The FFA members pictured above were all National Finalists in the FFA Proficiency Award competition based on excellence in their Supervised Agricultural Experience programs.  Left to right: Steven Rogers, Missouri FFA executive Secretary; Darla Mangels, Jackson; Derek Lowrey, Laredo; Nathan Scheiderer, Salisbury; Abby Stock, Hermann; Bobby Torres, University of Missouri-Columbia; Lisa Evans, Missouri State Executive Committee; Gwen Wilson, Pleasant Hope.

Five Missouri FFA members and three Ag Ed leaders from the state participated in the FFA Global Costa Rica Seminar with over 35 other national FFA award winners, June 16-26.  The seminar included exploring sustainable agriculture practices, touring farms, and interacting with students at agricultural colleges in Costa Rica.  As the agricultural community becomes increasingly global, it is crucial that FFA members understand the opportunities and challenges of international trade.
