Educator Preparation
News & Updates
ETS Presentation, Princeton, New Jersey, May 1, 2012
We continue our redesign of educator preparation accreditation measures and processes. PK-12 school districts, colleges/universities, and/or other members of the professional community attended regional meetings. These nine regional meetings were conducted to gain feedback, regarding best practices associated with Field & Clinical Experiences within educator preparation programs. The agenda also included an update on the development of the Annual Educator Preparation Performance Report (AEPPR) and other redesign components. The information collected will be reported as part of the next Redesign Webinar scheduled for Monday -- May 7 starting at 9:00 AM. The results from a statewide survey covering the same topic will also be included as part of the webinar.
The survey preliminary results were also shared on March 1 in a Webinar. You may listen to the recorded Webinar.

Redesign of Educator Preparation is currently underway. Starting summer 2011, a group of educators from K-12 schools and higher education ( 2 year and 4 year college and universities) have been working to develop Missouri Model Standards for Professional Educators (MoSPE). This collaborative work will continue through the next year. This stakeholder group will look at competencies, assessments, field and clinical experiences, candidate selection and recruitment, faculty development and evaluation, and administrative operations and resources.
