National Board Candidates

NATIONAL BOARD NOW REQUIRES A $65 APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE FOR FIRST TIME CANDIDATES. THIS IS THE CANDIDATES' RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY THIS AMOUNT AND IT IS NOT PART OF THE OVER ALL COST FOR ASSESSMENT.

First Window -February 17, 2009 - April 15, 2009 - Subsidy funding is awarded on a first come first-serve basis by regional allotted slots. All subsidy applications must be mailed along with supporting materials.   Applications must be postmarked no earlier than February 17 and on or by the 15th of April to be considered for funding.

Funding will be limited due to the 25% reduction in state PD funds.

This Year-long program has a portfolio due date of March, 2010 and the assessment testing window between July, 2009 and June, 2010. The candidate is responsible for the $65 application fee and $750 of the total assessment cost for a total assessment of $2,500.

Candidates can apply online at: http://www.nbpts.org or call National Board at 1-800-22-TEACH. Candidates can print a copy of their application or Candidate History page and then follow the guidelines below for state subsidy funding.
