Sample Career Ladder Plan For Districts

V. & VI. The DCLP shall show evidence of teacher, administrator and patron involvement in the development of the DCLP. A Career Ladder Review Committee, consisting of teachers selected by other teachers in the district and administrators, shall present to the local board a list of Career Ladder participants that have been approved for payment.

The Sunshine R-O District teachers selected five teachers to participate in the development of the DCLP. Two Administrators, one parent and one board member also served on the committee to develop the DCLP.

The Sunshine R-O shall have a Career Ladder Review Committee. Three teachers from each building will be selected by the other teachers to participate on this committee. An administrator will be appointed by the Superintendent to serve on this committee. The mission of this committee is to review CDP's of educators participating in the Career Ladder, evaluate final verifications for Career Ladder Responsibilities and recommend to the board approval for payment. [Specific size, term limits, number of meetings etc. for this committee will vary greatly depending on district size and number of participating educators. Each district will want to design the exact working of this committee internally and write their own description in the DCLP.]
