Missouri School for the Blind (MSB) is pleased to offer short-term courses to students who are blind and visually impaired and attending local school districts.
KEYS (Knowledge to Empower Your Success) is an Individualized Education Program (IEP) driven, individually designed short-courses, created to address the vision specific needs of students. KEYS short-courses are designed to provide intensive instruction which will help students acquire the skills they need to return to their local school district to become more independent and successful in the general education curriculum.
This program has been developed to serve students ages five to twenty-one. Upon eligibility determination from MSB, the students may receive three to eighteen weeks of specialized instruction, per school year, at no cost to the local school districts, in the following areas:
Computer and Assistive Technology
Orientation and Mobility (O&M)
Braille Skills
Visual Efficiency Skills
Activities of Daily Living Skills
Transition Training Skills
