The following message was sent out by Interim Commissioner, Dr. Bert Schulte, to all school districts today, and I wanted to be sure that directors of special education, special education contacts, and special education stakeholders also received it:
In accordance with my memo to you on April 6, 2009, DESE has calculated both the regular and ARRA allocations for Title I and IDEA. The Title I allocations have been posted on the Federal Programs website.
The IDEA allocations will be posted Monday, April 13.
These ARRA allocations, like all ARRA funds as well as the regular federal funds, are subject to appropriation by the General Assembly, and this process is not yet complete for FY 10. Therefore, the allocation amounts are provided on a preliminary basis for planning purposes. The receipt and timing of those funds are not assured until the legislative process is complete and the Governor has signed the budget.
