Subject:  Service Provider’s Link to My EI Kids in MoFirstSteps.com
Source:  Mary Corey, Director, Data Coordination
Intended Audience:  Service Providers, SPOEs, Service Coordinators
Date:  July 28, 2005

We have received many questions on where to locate the “My EI Kids” link in MoFirstSteps.com.

The My EI Kids link will be visible on the provider’s Child Care Management menu when the provider has been assigned to children by service coordinators in the Child Care Management web system.  Put another way, if the provider has not yet been assigned to any children as a team member or service provider in the web system, the link will not be visible.  So while a provider may be serving many First Steps children, until authorizations for those children are created in the new system, the child will not show up in the My EI Kids listing.  However, all authorization information created in the old and new systems is available under the Provider Module menu.

Therefore, for this period of transition that could last up to one year, providers will not have a complete listing of children in My EI Kids until all children in the old system have either been transferred to the new system or exited from First Steps.

For providers authorized to do an evaluation, the child won’t show up in the MY EI Kids listing until the child has been deemed eligible.  The Provider Module can continue to be used to alert providers that they have new authorizations.  SPOEs should also continue to notify providers about new authorizations for evaluations.  A change is planned to add service coordinator and head of household contact information to the authorization record in the Provider Module to facilitate communication.
