DATE: January 15, 2008 TO: All public agencies conducting their Special Education Self-assessment due March 31, 2008 FROM: Margaret Strecker, Director, Special Education Compliance SUBJECT: IMACS is now available for data entry. When you attended the 4th Cycle Special Education Monitoring Training this fall, DSE staff indicated your district would be notified when it was time to begin the file review portion of your self-assessment. The IMACS is now available for entry of the self-assessment file review, Initial Evaluation Timelines, and Part C to Part B Transition Timelines. In order to enter information in IMACS, you must have access to the IMACS system through DESE’s Web Application login. Access may be granted using the “DESE Web Systems User ID Request Form” which can be found on the DESE Web Application login page. Due to the delay in providing access to IMACS, your timeline for completing the file review portion of self-assessment has been extended to March 31, 2008. The Initial Evaluation Timelines and Part C to Part B Transition timelines must be submitted through IMACS by May 15, 2008 covering the time period from July 1, 2007 through April 30, 2008. Before beginning your self-assessment file review, please carefully read the IMACS Frequently Asked Questions, which can be found at the website listed below. This document includes new information as well as reminders about key points from your training earlier this school year. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 573-751-0186.
