Subject: October 3, 2007, 11:45 a.m., Monthly
Webstream - REMINDER
Source: Heidi Atkins Lieberman, Assistant Commissioner
Intended Audience: Directors of Special Education, Special Education
Coordinators, Superintendents
Date: October 2, 2007
On Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 11:45 a.m. please join me for the first
monthly webstream from the Division of Special Education. This will be a way
for me to communicate directly with you. My intent is to use approximately
15 minutes to share information with you and then open up the question
feature so you can type your questions on-line. I will select questions to
answer on-line, and other questions will be answered on our web site
subsequent to the webstream. We will end at 12:45 p.m. unless discussion on
the questions is exhausted before then. I encourage you to submit questions
beginning immediately to the following e-mail address:
sped.webstream@dese.mo.gov.
Please ensure your questions are not specific individual children questions,
but rather are more systemic in nature.
To participate in the webstream, you will want to first visit the test site,
to ensure you can access the real thing on your system. You may need to work
with your computer technology staff on issues related to filters, firewalls,
or bandwith. The test site is at:
https://admin.breezecentral.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm.
To participate in the actual webstream, you will want to go to the following
website:
http://desemo.acrobat.com/r52326721/. You will need to enter as a guest
by typing in your first and last name and selecting "Enter Room."
Please understand this is the very first time we are attempting something
like this; we ask your patience. If you experience problems viewing the
video of me, hearing the audio, or experience long delays in speech or
frozen frames, you may want to sign off and instead view the archived
version on our web site subsequent to the scheduled webstream.
The topic for the first webstream is: MAP, MAP-A, the new 2% modified
assessment option under NCLB, and parent observations under FERPA and HIPAA.
I welcome your ideas for future topics. Please e-mail those ideas to the
webstream e-mail address listed above.
