Subject: Braille/Large Print MAP Item Review

Intended Audience: Special Education Directors and other administrators who
supervise teachers of the visually impaired, classroom teachers that have
experience with teaching visually impaired students
Date: September 13, 2007
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is in need of
at least 21 educators who have classroom experience with visually impaired
students to review Terra Nova and Missouri's custom test items. This
review will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26 and 27. It
will be the goal of the review committee to flag items that have potential
Braille and/or Large Print issues for the annual operational MAP assessment.
This review is being done in advance of the item selection for the annual
operational MAP. Your help is needed.
The meeting will be held at DESE in the 8th floor conference room at the
Jefferson Building, 205 Jefferson St. The breakout rooms will also be in the
Jefferson Building. Parking is available at the Jefferson City Parking
Garage on Madison St. A continental breakfast, along with lunch, will be
provided. Mileage and lodging will be reimbursed.
