Application is due October 15, 2007
Source: Shelley Witherbee, Supervisor, Funds Management
Intended Audience: Special Education Directors, District Administrators
Date: August 31, 2007
The Excess Cost for Public Placement Fund (PPF) is for districts who are
serving non-domicile students, both IEP and non-IEP, placed within their
district by Children's Services (CD)/Division of Family Services (DFS), the
Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Youth Services (DYS), or a
court of competent jurisdiction. The application, instructions, and manual
for the PPF may be accessed at
http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/Finance/PPFindex.html.
The application should reflect expenditures for services provided during the
2006-07 school year. Please note that the application has a couple of
changes this year. The Basic State Aid revenue is calculated differently
based on the changes to the foundation formula, and Exceptional Pupil Aid
revenue has been eliminated.
After completing the application electronically, print, sign, and mail a
printed copy, along with all supporting documentation, to DESE, Special
Education Funds Management, P. O. Box 480, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0480.
The application must be postmarked by October 15, 2007 - extensions will not
be granted.
The Division anticipates paying the Public Placement Fund at a 100%
reimbursement rate after revenues are deducted.
