On June 10, 2008, a SELS message was sent to announce that Missouri had received notification on June 6, 2008, that the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), had completed its evaluation of Missouri's performance and had identified Missouri in the determination category of "Meets Requirements."  To review that SELS message, please go to the following link:

I thought you would be interested in the national breakdown of the

statistics:

14 states received a determination of Meets requirements

35 states received a determination of Needs Assistance

25 states received a determination for Needs Assistance for the second year

11 states received a determination for Needs Intervention

I am proud that Missouri is one of the 14 states that received a Meets Requirements' determination and I want to thank you for helping the state of Missouri earn that designation.  We are confident you will continue to join us as we strive to improve student achievement.
