The Transition Coalition, of the University of Kansas, in collaboration with DESE has developed a FREE online Community of Practice devoted to topics around transition planning. Educators, vocational coordinators, regional consultants, and anyone interested in transition are welcome to join the community to share resources, ask questions, and collaborate.

For a two-week period (March 12-25, 2007), Jim Martin, Ph.D., a national expert in self-determination and transition, will be joining the Missouri Community of Practice to answer questions generated by you.
He will be sharing information and resources including:
1. components of the self-directed IEP, including lesson plans; 2. bridging values of diverse cultures; 3. evidence-based practices in self-determination; and, 4. developing IEP goals.

Participation is FREE! Instructions for access can be found at: http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/EffectivePractices/cop3_07.pdf.
