The Transition Coalition, of the University of Kansas, in collaboration with
DESE has developed a FREE online Community of Practice devoted to topics
around transition planning. Educators, vocational coordinators, regional
consultants, and anyone interested in transition are welcome to join the
community to share resources, ask questions, and collaborate.
For a two-week period (March 12-25, 2007), Jim Martin, Ph.D., a national
expert in self-determination and transition, will be joining
the Missouri Community of Practice to answer questions generated by you.
He will be sharing information and resources including:
1. components of the self-directed IEP, including lesson plans; 2. bridging
values of diverse cultures; 3. evidence-based practices in
self-determination; and, 4. developing IEP goals.
