Transition/Grants to Form a Transition Team/Applications Due August 15 - The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Transition Coalition are pleased to announce grant funding to support the formation of nine Community Transition Teams across Missouri. (06/26/09)
Early Childhood Special Education (Section 619/Preschool) ARRA Funds - The FY 10 ARRA IDEA Section 619 (Preschool grant) will be distributed to LEAs having an ECSE program in FY 10 as a separate funding grant after July 1, 2009. (06/25/09)
Funds Management/Please Hold Phone Calls Temporarily - Due to a temporary shortage of Funds Management staff and the time involved in testing new ePEGS processes, we are requesting school district staff refrain from calling the Funds Management Section with questions (Funding/ ARRA/FER/Budget, etc) throughout the balance of this week. Supreme Court Case on Reimbursement for Private Special Education Services - The United States Supreme Court has issued a decision holding that it is not necessary for a child with a disability to have received special education and related services from a public agency to receive reimbursement for private education costs. ECSE June Payment Proration - Expenditures for the
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program exceeded the Division's State and Federal funds available in 2008-09.
Therefore, the June ECSE payment was prorated to approximately 84.8%. (6/23/09)
