2010 Summer Reading Program
With resources becoming tighter at the state level, DESE is changing the procurement process for the 2010 summer reading program materials. The first change is that the only format that DESE will provide these materials free to school districts will be in DVD. The DVD format will be a 3 disc set. The DVD will contain the manual in a .pdf format, with all of the reproducible activity sheets and graphics.
The second change is that DESE is not going to automatically send out the DVD to school districts this year. To request the 2010 Summer Reading Program Manual please click on the application below and fax to DESE 573-522-1134. This needs to be faxed by November 15, 2009.

ONLINE CLASS information—Elearning in conjunction with DESE has developed an online class to give first year media specialists a basic understanding of the school media profession in Missouri. By no means is this course a substitute for any library science class, but instead is a quick overview of necessary information to assist individuals who have minimal coursework on operating and developing a school media program. Communications: For the 2009-2010 school year, communications from DESE regarding library/media issues will be distributed to the Libtrary Media contact that each school district provides on CORE DATA screen #3. Below is a link to this listing. If you find that information for your district is incorrect, please contact your CORE DATA administrator.
