For all federal programs, equitable services shall be consistent with the number of eligible children. This means that the district must allocate the same amount per pupil for all students, both public and nonpublic. The share of the LEA’s Title II.A funds that is used for professional development and subject to a determination of equitable expenditures shall be not less than the aggregate amount of funds that were used for professional development for fiscal year 2001-2002 under Title II Eisenhower Professional Development and Class Size Reduction. IMPORTANT NOTE: We have posted a spreadsheet on the Federal Program website under “News & Updates” that shows our calculation for Minimum Amount per Nonpublic Child. This is the link: http://www.dese.mo.gov/divimprove/fedprog/ For several LEAs, we had to make assumptions to calculate this amount. Therefore, we are asking each LEA to review the amount that we have calculated. If you are in agreement, no further action is required. If you are not in agreement, please send your calculations to us by e-mail and we will review and make appropriate changes. Changes must be submitted by Tuesday, May 26, 2009 to Cathy.Mendez.Roca@dese.mo.gov. Thank you for your prompt assistance.
