Part B of Title VI of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 authorizes the Secretary of Education to award funds under two separate formula grant programs designed to address the unique needs of rural school districts.
In order to determine the 2008-2009 allocations and eligibility in accordance with the rural education legislation, the US Department of Education will use information from the 2008-09 Spreadsheet located in the 2008-2009 Small Rural School Achievement Program file at the following web site http://dese.mo.gov/divimprove/fedprog/financialmanagement
For your convenience, we have prepared a list that identifies districts whose eligibility for one of these two grants has changed between school year 2007-08 to 2008-09. This list is located at the same web site listed above. The name of the file is “SRSA Changes for 2008-09.”
We have provided estimated allocations for each grant program. The preliminary allocations are located at the same web site listed above. Please keep in mind that this estimated allocation will be pro-ratably reduced or increased, depending upon available funds.
