The Discretionary Grants’ section will be conducting “New” Homeless Liaison workshops on the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act throughout the state in July and August. Workshops will provide participants with an overview of the key provisions of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Topics to be discussed include the causes of poverty and exploring how poverty affects children, the basic concepts of the McKinney-Vento Act, the definition of homelessness and how it impacts the various responsibilities of the LEA.
