This important training opportunity will include an overview of the WIDA Consortium and what joining this group will mean for English language learners and ELL staff in Missouri. It will include:
- Who qualifies as an ELL in Missouri;
- Myths & Misconceptions: Educating ELLs;
- The Difference Between Academic Language & Content;
- An introduction to the WIDA English Language Proficiency Standards;
- WIDA Assessments: W-APT, MODEL and ACCESS for ELLs®; and
- Programmatic Implications of ELP Levels.
There will also be a question and answer session with DESE personnel.
There is no cost to attend this meeting. Lunch will be provided.
