Reminders - 2007

You are probably thinking ---- it's the middle of February ---- where has this school year gone? Here are a few reminders and ideas for you as the school year winds down:

As you plan your end-of-the-year evaluations and program meetings, remember you really need to include the parents on your committees.

Even if they cannot come to the meeting, you should give them the information and solicit their input. Also, remember the parent representatives are not to be employees of the district.

Does your building's Parent Involvement Plan need any revisions?

Have you updated your School-Parent-Student Compact to include all requirements?

Have you scheduled a Parent/Family Involvement Night(s) or other parent activities?

Remember there is information and examples regarding the requirements of the Parent Involvement Plan and the School-Parent-Student Compact.

Hopefully you have seen the materials Practical Parenting Partnership has available to have a MAP Night for parents. Several school districts have mentioned having that activity and how successful it has been.
