NCLB Consolidated Application Deadline is July 1, 2009

List Serve Message Date:  June 3, 2009

The 2009-2010 No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Consolidated Application is available on the electronic Planning and electronic Grants System (ePeGS) as of June 2, 2009.  The deadline for submission of the NCLB Consolidated Application is July 1, 2009.  This deadline is necessary to determine Title I schools so the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) can make AYP determinations by the required dates.  If a Local Education Agency (LEA) chooses not to submit an application by the deadline date, the LEA will not be able to obligate funds until after September 1, 2009.

To help facilitate the timely submission of the NCLB Consolidated Application on ePeGS, the Federal Programs’ staff will be offering training June 8th through June 24th.  While the staff conducts these trainings, they will be out of the office during the day but available by email in the evenings.  There will be at least one staff member in the office throughout the day to help answer questions.  The letter regarding the training which includes the list of training locations and the PowerPoint presentation that will be used during the training can be found at:

The carryover amounts for many of the school districts are not up-to-date.  We will update the carryover amounts periodically after the district has submitted their Final Expenditure Report for the 2008-2009 school year.  If your district has an open amendment cycle for the 2008-2009 school year, it will need to be closed before carryover can be calculated correctly.  For assistance with the amendment process, please contact your Grants Management Supervisor.

We have tested the NCLB Consolidated Application thoroughly, but we would appreciate your help.  If you find that the funding application has errors, please send an e-mail describing the issue to  If you have questions regarding the use of funds, contact your Grants Management Supervisor.  The list of supervisors and their contact information is located at
