SUBJECT: July Payment and FY11 FER Update

Payment requests submitted through June 30th were approved on Friday, July 22nd. Payments are in process and funds will be available to LEAs by July 29th. Once the payment request in ePeGS is marked “Payment Processed”, you may submit the request for August.
The issue that prevented LEAs from submitting payment requests after June 30th has been resolved. Payment requests for August may be submitted at this time. Because of the delay, we will extend the submittal date for August payments to 11:59 PM on Friday, August 5th.
Although Districts must follow the Cash Management Improvement Act (CMIA), we encourage you to draw down funds as they are expended. We still have large balances in the ARRA, Title II.D and Title IV.A grants.
We’ve been informed that the FY11 NCLB Consolidated Final Expenditure Report (FER) will not be available until at least August 3rd. While the FER is not due until September 30, 2011, districts may submit the FER before the due date. However, please keep in mind that once an FER is created, the district will not be able to make any additional payment requests. In addition, open budget amendments will be closed when the FER is created.
