MAP Score Accountability for MoVIP Program

Senate Bill 912 states that MoVIP “will comply with all state laws and regulations applicable to school districts, including but not limited to the Missouri school improvement program (MSIP), adequate yearly progress (AYP), annual performance report (APR), teacher certification, and curriculum standards.” To comply, the following procedures will be in place regarding MAP scores.
MoVIP will be held accountable for all student MAP scores (public, non-public and home schooled)
Public, non-public and home schooled students taking the following courses will be required to take the MAP regardless of funding source (state funded or tuition):
- 3rd Grade Communications Arts
- 3rd Grade Math
- 4th Grade Communications Arts
- 4th Grade Math
- 5th Grade Communications Arts
- 5th Grade Math
- 5th Grade Science
- 6th Grade Communications Arts - starting Spring 2009
- 6th Grade Math - starting Spring 2009
- 7th Grade Communications Arts - starting Spring 2009
- 7th Grade Math - starting Spring 2009
- 8th Grade Communications Arts - starting Spring 2009
- 8th Grade Math - starting Spring 2009
- 8th Grade Science - starting Spring 2009
- 10th Grade Any 10th grader taking a Mathematics Class
- 11th Grade Any 11th grader taking a Communications Arts Class
- 11th Grade Any 11th grader taking a Science Class
If a student fails to take the MAP test, MoVIP’s management system will place a hold on the student for all future courses so that the student cannot enroll in any other virtual courses.
Public School Districts that use district funds to pay tuition for students to take MoVIP classes will be accountable for the MAP scores as well as MoVIP.
