TEACHER NOTES:

In grades 6–8, students should acquire computational fluency—the ability to compute efficiently and accurately—with fractions, decimals, and integers. Teachers should help students learn how to decide when an exact answer or an estimate would be more appropriate, how to choose the best computational method to use, and how to evaluate the reasonableness of answers to computations.[1]
