Mathematics Model Curriculum Units
Mathematics model curriculum units provide examples of instructional activities and assessments for specific grade levels as outlined in the Mathematics Grade-Level Expectations. While some units will be posted in their entirety, only selected assessments and/or lessons may be posted from some. The units provide students opportunities to learn and apply grade level appropriate concepts and skills throughout the instructional activities, formative assessments, and the summative assessment within each unit.
The template model used for the work is just one example that could be used in curriculum development. Far more important than the template model are the components included in the unit. Each lesson includes specific learning activities aligned to the Missouri Grade-Level Expectations, questions for students, and teacher support along with lesson materials and listings of any additional materials or resources, all of which are important components in an effective curriculum.
All postings are drafts; therefore your comments regarding revisions are invaluable. Additional units, assessments, and lessons will be posted as they become available for all mathematics strands and K – 10 grade levels.
Thanks to the many Missouri educators who have participated in the development of the mathematics model curriculum.
