Accuracy of Pronunciation

Emotions, volume, and tone match both texts’ purpose

Student does not show evidence of one of the three (Emotions, volume, and tone)

Student does not show evidence of two of the three (Emotions, volume, and tone)

Very little emotion, volume, or tone is expressed in both texts

Variety of Rate

Rate adjusts to both texts’ genre and purpose

Student’s rate occasionally falters or speeds up inappropriately for the genre and purpose

Phrasing with attention to authors’ punctuation & meaning
