LEARNING ACTIVITIES
1. Chorally read the play as a class.
2. Discuss how a play is written into characters’ roles. Divide class into two groups with each group practicing and presenting the play. Assign every student a role.
3. Model how to read a role with fluency and intonation.

How does the reader know how the character is feeling and how they should act? (The script often tells you how the character feels and what actions the characters are doing. How is the role of the narrator different from the role of a character? (The narrator gives the background o f the story and tells the audience when there is a change in the character’s speaking, in the setting, or in the events as the story unfolds. |
