Nature Detective Assignment

The Chief of all Nature Detectives wants each second grader to use the topic about nature they have chosen during the unit.  Detectives will use the strategies they have learned to locate information on that topic.  Each detective is to make a written report of their information to the Chief of all Nature Detectives. 

Record your information in booklet form.  Include an illustration on each page to help readers understand the facts you write.  The last page of the booklet should tell the title, the author, and the illustrator of the text you used. You will be a published author when you are finished and can share your book with others.              

You are now a nature detective ready to research.  Have fun doing your research project.  The scoring guide is on the back of this page.  Use it to help finish the research booklet.

The report booklet should have:

·         a title page  including the topic title, your name and the date published

·         at least four illustrated  fact pages

·         at least one credit page including the title, author and illustrator of the text you used
