Assessment

 

Ask students to identify a fear that they have overcome or a fear they are coping with now.  Ask them to focus on the concept of change.  Have them write Journal Response One:  Write about a fear that has changed as you’ve grown older.  Explain what has changed to alter this fear. 

 

Assess the response for addressing the topic of change.

 

Scoring guide:

2 points – Student identifies a fear and explains how it has changed

1 point – Student identifies a fear

0 points – no response

Students may write Journal Response One in their own notebook, on their own paper or on a printed copy of Journal Response One handout.
