Perkins IV Five-Year State Plan Approved

The U.S. Department of Education announced July 1, 2008, approval of Missouri’s five-year state plan for implementation of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. Also known as “Perkins IV,” the law signed by President Bush in August, 2006 provides an increased focus on the academic achievement, strengthened connections between secondary and postsecondary education, and improved state and local accountability.

The state plan will be administered by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Division of Career Education.  Missouri receives about $26 million a year under the Perkins Act to support career and technical education programs across the state.


New Help Documents Available

New help documents are now available to assist with the administration of the Perkins IV grant.


Finance Worksheet

This worksheet is sent to a LEA who has been selected to receive a Perkins Technical Assistance Visit (TAV).  The worksheet indicates the information that will be reviewed by the Finance representative during the TAV.
