Special Education and English Language Learners: Guidance for LEA Staff

This will be the second in a series of webinars about Special Education and English Language Learners: Guidance for LEA staff.  The series will address the issues and implications for English Language Learners throughout the special education process. In this second webinar, we will focus on the referral process.  We will explore the factors unique to ELLs that my impact academic success as well as discuss quality intervention strategies for this population of students.  In addition, guidance for determining is a disability is suspected will be shared.  The new resource for use in the special education identification process for ELL students will be reviewed and demonstrated.  Finally, we will be answering your questions.

Special education teachers, ELL teachers, school administrators, special education administrators, ELL coordinators, special education process coordinators, school counselors, general education teachers, parents of ELL students, school board members, and other persons involved with decision making for ELL students should participate in this webinar.
